DoorDash Rewards has become one of the most important—and sometimes most confusing—parts of being a Dasher.
Years ago, drivers mostly talked about programs such as Top Dasher, Early Access Scheduling and the Large Order Program.
Today, DoorDash increasingly brings these kinds of benefits together under Dasher Rewards, with three familiar status levels:
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
The basic idea is simple.
Maintain stronger ratings and delivery activity, and you may unlock additional benefits.
But there is an important change every Dasher needs to understand in 2026:
There is no single nationwide Silver, Gold or Platinum requirement that applies to every DoorDash driver.
DoorDash currently says qualification requirements depend on your area. Your Dasher app’s Ratings section is the place to see the requirements and rewards that actually apply to you.
DoorDash is also testing a newer system called the Overall Dasher Rating, or ODR, in selected markets. Instead of requiring every rating to individually meet a fixed tier threshold, the pilot combines several ratings into a points score that determines whether you are Silver, Gold or Platinum.
So if you watch another Dasher online and their Rewards screen looks completely different from yours, neither of you is necessarily seeing an error.
DoorDash’s programs now vary by market.
This guide explains how DoorDash Rewards works in 2026, what Silver, Gold and Platinum generally mean, which benefits may be available, what happens when your ratings fall, how the Overall Dasher Rating changes the system and whether chasing Platinum is actually worth it.
What Is the DoorDash Dasher Rewards Program?
Dasher Rewards is DoorDash’s tiered program for recognizing drivers who meet certain ratings and delivery requirements.
In the standard Rewards structure, DoorDash says qualification can consider:
- Acceptance Rate
- Completion Rate
- Customer Rating
- Recent delivery activity
The exact requirements depend on the area.
Depending on your level and market, possible rewards include:
- Priority access to high-paying offers
- Priority access to Dash Now
- VIP Dasher Support
- Advanced Scheduling
- Access to Large Orders
- Market-specific discounts and promotions
DoorDash divides qualifying Dashers into:
Silver
Entry Rewards level.
Gold
Middle Rewards level.
Platinum
Highest normal Rewards level.
Generally, the higher your status, the stronger the potential rewards.
However, the actual benefits attached to Silver, Gold and Platinum can vary by location.
What Are the DoorDash Rewards Requirements in 2026?
This is probably the most important section of this article.
You may find websites or videos telling you:
Silver requires exactly this Acceptance Rate.
or:
Platinum always requires exactly 70%.
Do not assume those numbers apply to you.
DoorDash’s current official Rewards guidance specifically says:
Requirements depend on the area.
DoorDash tells Dashers to open the Ratings tab in the Dasher app to see the qualifications for their location.
To check yours:
- Open the Dasher app.
- Tap Ratings.
- Find Dasher Rewards.
- Review Silver, Gold and Platinum.
- Look at each required rating.
- Check recent delivery requirements.
- Review the rewards attached to each level.
Your app is more important than an old screenshot from another market.
Why Doesn’t DoorDash Have One Nationwide Requirement?
DoorDash operates in thousands of cities with very different delivery conditions.
One market may have:
- Heavy order volume
- Short urban deliveries
- Thousands of Dashers
Another may have:
- Fewer restaurants
- Long suburban trips
- Less driver supply
DoorDash also tests different program designs.
Its official terms say it may modify:
- Qualification requirements
- Rewards
- Program availability
- Participating markets
- Features offered to particular groups of Dashers
This is why a DoorDash Rewards article that simply says:
Platinum = X% Acceptance Rate everywhere
can become inaccurate very quickly.
How DoorDash Rewards Status Changes
Under the standard Rewards program, your status can change as your ratings change.
DoorDash says that once your:
- Acceptance Rate
- Completion Rate
- Customer Rating
- Delivery activity
qualify for a level, the corresponding rewards become available.
Likewise, if one of those ratings drops below the required threshold, you can lose that Rewards level until you qualify again.
Example
Suppose your market requires certain ratings for Gold.
You are currently Silver.
You complete enough deliveries and improve your Completion Rate.
Now all your numbers qualify for Gold.
Your Rewards level can move up.
But later, you unassign an ordinary order and your Completion Rate drops below the Gold requirement.
You may fall back to Silver until the rating recovers.
DoorDash says some rewards update immediately while others can take approximately 24 to 48 hours to refresh or activate.
Do Rewards Reset Every Month?
Not necessarily.
Modern Dasher Rewards is more dynamic than the old idea of qualifying once and keeping status until the end of a calendar month.
Your status can move as your qualifying ratings and delivery activity change.
That means you may potentially:
- Gain Platinum during a dash
- Lose Platinum during a dash
- Recover Platinum later
depending on your current market’s qualification system.
This is especially important when you are sitting exactly on a threshold.
What Is DoorDash Silver Status?
Silver is generally the first level of the Dasher Rewards program.
Think of it as the entry tier.
Depending on your market, Silver may begin unlocking benefits such as priority for selected offers or scheduling-related perks.
DoorDash says priority access to high-paying offers becomes stronger as a Dasher moves through:
Silver → Gold → Platinum.
Silver therefore may give you some advantage compared with having no Rewards tier, while Gold and Platinum can receive greater priority.
But again, check your specific app.
Not every benefit appears in every market.
What Is DoorDash Gold Status?
Gold is the middle tier.
A Gold Dasher generally has stronger qualifying ratings or activity than required for Silver.
Depending on your market, Gold may provide stronger versions of benefits available at lower levels or unlock additional features.
In markets participating in the newer Overall Dasher Rating pilot, Gold can also receive higher offer priority than Silver through Offer Boosts. DoorDash says priority in those pilot markets generally ranks:
- Platinum
- Gold
- Silver
- No Rewards status
Gold and Platinum Dashers in selected ODR markets may also receive access to a newer Store Pause feature, which I will explain later.
What Is DoorDash Platinum Status?
Platinum is the highest standard Dasher Rewards tier.
Depending on your market, Platinum can provide the strongest access to Rewards benefits such as:
- High-paying-offer priority
- Large Orders
- Scheduling or Dash Now advantages
- VIP Support
- Special promotions
- Discounts
- Newer pilot benefits such as Offer Boosts, Store Pause or Platinum Pass
Platinum sounds great.
But there is an important question:
Does Platinum actually make you more money?
The answer is:
It can, but it is not guaranteed.
We will get into that later.
Priority Access to High-Paying Orders
This is probably the Rewards benefit Dashers talk about the most.
DoorDash says qualifying Rewards Dashers can receive priority access to high-paying offers.
Priority becomes stronger as status increases from Silver to Gold to Platinum.
That means when DoorDash has an eligible high-paying delivery available, higher-tier Dashers may receive greater priority for it.
What Counts as a High-Paying DoorDash Order?
DoorDash says high-paying offers are among the better-paying deliveries in the local market.
What qualifies can vary based on:
- Area
- Time
- Delivery distance
DoorDash says the calculation considers total pay, including:
- Base pay
- Peak Pay
- Tips
You may see a Rewards-tier icon on the offer screen indicating that your status helped prioritize you for the offer.
Does Platinum Guarantee High-Paying Orders?
No.
Priority is not the same as a guarantee.
Imagine there are no excellent orders available.
DoorDash cannot give you:
$20 for 2 miles
if no customer has placed an order producing that opportunity.
DoorDash’s matching system considers multiple factors, including:
- Your location
- Estimated delivery time
- Ratings and Rewards
- Historical delivery outcomes
- Equipment and eligibility
- Local supply and demand
So even Platinum Dashers can experience:
- Slow periods
- Low-paying offers
- Long trips
- Long waits between deliveries
Rewards are only one factor.
Does Platinum Mean Every Offer Will Be Good?
Definitely not.
This is one of the biggest misunderstandings about Dasher Rewards.
A Platinum driver may still receive an offer such as:
$5 for 10 miles.
Having Platinum does not mean DoorDash promises every offer will meet your personal profitability standards.
You still need to look at:
- Payout
- Mileage
- Restaurant
- Destination
- Return distance
- Estimated time
Rewards status does not replace good order-selection skills.
Priority Access to Dash Now
Another possible Rewards benefit is improved Dash Now access.
Under DoorDash’s standard Rewards system, qualifying Dashers may receive priority access to Dash Now when it is available.
DoorDash says that in some areas, certain Dashers may be able to Dash Now even when the market is not currently busy.
This can be extremely valuable in oversaturated markets.
Imagine that you normally need to schedule several days ahead.
You open the app at 5:30 p.m.
Without Rewards:
Schedule
With the appropriate Rewards benefit:
Dash Now
That flexibility can matter more than high-paying-order priority for some drivers.
Dash Now Does Not Guarantee Orders
Even if you can start a dash, that does not mean orders will immediately appear.
This becomes especially clear in DoorDash’s newer Overall Dasher Rating pilot.
DoorDash says Dash Now lets participating drivers go online, but offer frequency still depends on:
- Demand
- Time of day
- Local order volume
Being allowed to dash and actually receiving profitable orders are two different things.
Advanced Scheduling
DoorDash Rewards may also provide Advanced Scheduling.
Under the standard Rewards program, DoorDash says eligible Dashers can schedule up to six days in advance beginning at 3 p.m. each day.
This can be particularly valuable in markets where:
- Dinner blocks disappear quickly
- Weekend slots fill early
- Drivers compete heavily for schedules
For example, instead of hoping Friday evening becomes available later, you may be able to secure it several days ahead.
Is Advanced Scheduling Worth Maintaining Rewards?
In some markets, absolutely.
Suppose you only DoorDash:
- Friday dinner
- Saturday dinner
- Sunday lunch
Those may also be your market’s most competitive time slots.
If maintaining Gold or Platinum consistently allows you to secure those schedules, the benefit could be financially meaningful.
But if your market is almost always busy and Dash Now is readily available, scheduling access may not matter nearly as much.
This is why Rewards value depends on your market.
VIP Dasher Support
Certain Rewards levels may include access to VIP Dasher Support.
DoorDash says eligible Dashers contacting Support may be routed to agents equipped to handle a broad range of Dasher issues.
That does not mean:
- Every problem will be solved immediately
- Every decision will go in your favor
- VIP agents can ignore DoorDash policies
It simply provides a different support-routing benefit when available.
Large Orders
Large Orders can be one of the most financially interesting Platinum-related rewards.
DoorDash describes Large Orders as catering-style orders that can have greater tip and earnings potential.
In US markets using the current Rewards program, DoorDash says access to Large Orders is tied to qualification for Dasher Rewards.
DoorDash’s general Rewards page also says qualifying Dashers can be prioritized for Large Orders and that a catering bag is no longer required for this particular reward.
Why Are Large Orders Attractive?
A normal restaurant delivery might have:
$30 food subtotal.
A catering order might involve:
- Office lunch
- Corporate event
- Large family order
- Party
- Group meal
with a much larger subtotal.
Larger subtotals can potentially create larger tips.
But DoorDash does not guarantee that every Large Order will be highly profitable.
Always evaluate the actual offer.
Is Platinum Required for Large Orders?
The exact Rewards status required can vary by market.
DoorDash’s current US Large Order guidance says drivers in applicable markets need to qualify through Dasher Rewards, while the specific tier and available benefits are shown in the Ratings tab.
So do not automatically assume an old Large Order Program requirement still applies everywhere.
Check your app.
Do You Still Need a Catering Bag?
DoorDash’s current general Rewards page says a catering bag is no longer required for the Large Orders reward.
However, using appropriate equipment remains a good idea.
If you receive:
- Eight large trays
- Several bags of food
- Multiple drinks
proper insulated equipment can make the delivery much easier and help maintain food quality.
Not being required to have equipment is different from the equipment being useless.
Discounts on DoorDash
Some Platinum Dashers in select markets may also see a Discounts on DoorDash reward.
DoorDash currently says eligible Platinum Dashers in participating markets can receive this promotion every two weeks, subject to the eligibility and redemption rules displayed in the app.
This is a smaller perk compared with order priority or Large Orders, but it is another example of why one market’s Platinum package may differ from another.
New Dashers and Rewards
New Dashers do not necessarily need to immediately worry about hitting normal Silver, Gold and Platinum thresholds.
DoorDash currently says new Dashers receive special perks during their first 50 deliveries.
After completing 50 deliveries, they become eligible to qualify for the normal Dasher Rewards program.
This gives new drivers time to learn:
- The Dasher app
- Restaurants
- Delivery zones
- Customer instructions
- Ratings
- Order selection
before the normal Rewards system fully applies.
How to Check Your DoorDash Rewards Status
Open:
Dasher app → Ratings
There you should be able to see:
- Current Rewards level
- Acceptance Rate
- Completion Rate
- Customer Rating
- Delivery requirements
- Overall Dasher Rating if applicable
- Rewards currently unlocked
- Progress toward another tier
Check this page regularly.
DoorDash’s programs are changing quickly enough that your app should be treated as the source of truth for your account.
What Happens If You Lose Platinum?
Suppose your ratings currently qualify for Platinum.
Then you:
- Decline several orders
- Unassign an accepted order
- Receive rating changes
and one of your metrics drops below your market’s Platinum requirement.
Under the standard Rewards model, DoorDash says your Rewards level adjusts when your ratings no longer meet the qualifications.
You might fall to:
Gold
or:
Silver
depending on the numbers.
You can generally earn the status back once your ratings again satisfy the criteria.
Does Losing Platinum Mean You Cannot DoorDash?
Usually not.
Losing a Rewards tier and being deactivated are different things.
DoorDash’s standard Rewards guidance says that if your Acceptance Rate, Completion Rate or Customer Rating falls below the Rewards qualification threshold, you can still dash but will lose access to those Rewards until you qualify again.
However, separate platform minimums still matter.
For example, Completion Rate and Customer Rating have their own account-access requirements.
So:
Below Platinum requirement
does not necessarily mean:
Below DoorDash platform minimum.
Acceptance Rate and Dasher Rewards
Acceptance Rate is probably the biggest strategic issue surrounding Rewards.
DoorDash currently says there is no platform-wide minimum Acceptance Rate required simply to remain active.
But Acceptance Rate can be part of determining your Rewards tier.
That means you can have a low Acceptance Rate and remain an active Dasher while losing access to:
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Certain associated perks
depending on your market.
This distinction matters.
Should You Accept Bad Orders to Keep Platinum?
Not automatically.
Suppose you need to raise Acceptance Rate.
You receive:
$4 for 11 miles.
You know accepting it could help protect Platinum.
Should you?
Ask yourself:
- How much will the trip really cost?
- Where does it leave me?
- Will I have unpaid return mileage?
- How much is Platinum worth to me?
- Will losing Platinum meaningfully reduce my income?
- How close am I to the threshold?
Sometimes accepting a slightly weaker order to preserve a valuable Rewards tier may make sense.
But repeatedly taking obviously unprofitable deliveries can erase the financial benefit you hoped Platinum would provide.
Calculate the Cost of Platinum
This is one of the best things an experienced Dasher can do.
Suppose keeping Platinum requires you to accept several offers each week you otherwise would decline.
During one month, those weaker deliveries cost you an estimated:
$120 in additional vehicle cost and opportunity cost.
Now ask:
Did Platinum generate at least $120 of additional value through:
- Better orders?
- Less idle time?
- Large Orders?
- Scheduling access?
- Special promotions?
If Platinum produced $300 of additional profit, maintaining it may make sense.
If the benefits appear to be worth only $50, it may not.
Treat Rewards like a business decision rather than a video-game achievement.
Completion Rate and Rewards
Completion Rate can also determine your Rewards tier.
This creates another important decision.
Suppose you accept a bad order merely to protect Acceptance Rate.
Then you realize:
I really don’t want this.
You unassign.
Now you may have:
- Helped Acceptance Rate
- Hurt Completion Rate
That can be worse.
DoorDash’s standard Rewards structure considers both Acceptance Rate and Completion Rate.
Do not use:
Accept → inspect → unassign
as a regular strategy.
Evaluate offers before accepting whenever possible.
Customer Rating and Rewards
Customer Rating can also influence your status under the standard Rewards program.
Fortunately, maintaining Customer Rating usually does not require accepting poor orders.
It comes mainly from providing consistent service:
- Deliver correct order
- Follow instructions
- Use an insulated bag
- Check visible drinks
- Keep orders organized
- Communicate meaningful delays
- Take good drop-off photos
Strong service protects both your account and Rewards qualification.
Delivery Count Requirements
DoorDash Rewards can also consider recent delivery activity.
DoorDash says new Dashers need at least 50 completed deliveries before normal Rewards qualification begins.
Some markets can also require a particular number of recent deliveries to maintain higher status.
Again, the amount varies.
Check your Ratings tab.
This can affect part-time Dashers.
You might have excellent ratings but not complete enough deliveries to maintain Platinum in a market with a rolling delivery requirement.
Does DoorDash Rewards Use the Last 30 Days?
Some versions do.
DoorDash’s newer Overall Dasher Rating specifically includes Last 30-Day Orders as one of the six factors in the score.
Certain other market-specific Rewards structures also use rolling delivery counts.
This means your delivery activity is constantly moving.
A large week from more than 30 days ago eventually stops helping the current rolling total.
What Is the Overall Dasher Rating?
This is one of the biggest DoorDash Rewards changes to understand in 2026.
DoorDash is testing a system called the:
Overall Dasher Rating (ODR)
Instead of determining Rewards only through separate individual thresholds, ODR assigns points based on six factors:
- Acceptance Rate
- Completion Rate
- Customer Rating
- On-Time Rate
- Quality Rate
- Last 30-Day Orders
Those points combine into one score.
Your score determines whether you qualify for:
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
DoorDash says the ODR updates automatically as the individual ratings change.
Why Is Overall Dasher Rating Different?
Under a traditional threshold system, one rating can sometimes prevent you from qualifying.
Example:
You meet Platinum requirements for:
- Completion Rate
- Customer Rating
- Delivery count
But your Acceptance Rate misses the required threshold by one point.
No Platinum.
The ODR pilot is designed to create more flexibility by allowing several ratings to contribute points toward your overall status.
That means excellent performance in multiple areas may give you more paths toward a higher tier.
Is Overall Dasher Rating Available Everywhere?
No.
DoorDash calls it a pilot.
Features and eligibility can vary by Dasher and location.
You will know you are part of it when the Ratings tab shows:
- Overall Dasher Rating
- Points
- ODR Rewards requirements
If your app still displays the more traditional separate Rewards qualification system, follow that instead.
Dash Now Is Different Under the ODR Pilot
One of the biggest ODR changes is Dash Now.
DoorDash says Dashers participating in certain Overall Dasher Rating markets can Dash Now regardless of Rewards status.
Scheduling is no longer required simply to guarantee an available spot in those markets.
That changes the value of Platinum considerably.
Instead of Platinum primarily helping you gain platform access, the higher tier may provide another benefit:
Offer Boosts.
What Are DoorDash Offer Boosts?
Offer Boosts are part of selected Overall Dasher Rating markets.
DoorDash says they give higher-status Dashers priority for available offers in an effort to reduce waiting time between orders.
The priority order is:
- Platinum
- Gold
- Silver
- No Rewards status
DoorDash says Platinum Dashers receive priority on all offers under this feature and, based on its initial testing, can expect shorter average waits than lower tiers. Actual wait times still vary according to demand and availability.
Do Offer Boosts Increase the Pay of an Order?
Not directly.
DoorDash says Offer Boosts improve access and priority, not the dollar amount paid for an individual delivery.
For example:
Two Dashers are near the same restaurant.
Dasher A
Platinum
Dasher B
Silver
If both are otherwise eligible, Offer Boosts may give Dasher A greater priority to receive an available offer.
That does not automatically mean DoorDash adds $5 to the order because Dasher A is Platinum.
The benefit is potentially:
less idle time
rather than:
higher base pay per order.
Does Platinum Guarantee No Waiting?
No.
DoorDash explicitly says offer priority does not guarantee available orders.
Offer frequency still depends on:
- Demand
- Location
- Time
- Local order volume
Platinum at 3 p.m. in a completely dead market can still mean waiting.
What Is Store Pause?
Another ODR pilot reward is Store Pause.
Selected Gold and Platinum Dashers may receive the ability to temporarily stop receiving offers from specific nearby stores.
Why might you want this?
Maybe one restaurant is consistently:
- 30 minutes late
- Difficult to park at
- Producing poor deliveries
- Overwhelmed during dinner
Instead of declining offer after offer from that restaurant, Store Pause can temporarily remove it from your incoming offers.
How Long Does Store Pause Last?
DoorDash currently says an eligible Store Pause lasts:
Two weeks.
Under the current pilot:
- Gold can pause offers from one eligible store.
- Platinum can pause offers from up to three eligible stores.
Each pause can last two weeks.
The feature is available only to invited Dashers and selected stores/markets.
How Do You Use Store Pause?
When eligible:
- Receive an offer from a store.
- Decline it.
- Look for the Store Pause option.
- Turn on the pause.
- Confirm the decline.
DoorDash says the pause can take several minutes to take effect and will automatically end after two weeks.
Not every restaurant will be eligible.
What Is Platinum Pass?
Platinum Pass is another important 2026 Rewards feature.
It allows eligible Dashers to earn a seven-day period of Platinum status, even if their current ratings later fall below normal Platinum requirements.
DoorDash rolled out a new version of Platinum Pass in 2026.
Under the current version, eligible Dashers earn one Platinum Pass after completing:
200 consecutive deliveries while maintaining Platinum status.
If you drop below Platinum before reaching 200 qualifying deliveries, your progress resets.
DoorDash says the new version was rolled out to Dashers by April 1, 2026.
What Does a Platinum Pass Give You?
When redeemed, the pass provides:
7 days of Platinum benefits
even if your current ratings are below the normal Platinum threshold during that period.
Potential Platinum benefits can include things such as:
- High-paying-offer priority
- VIP Support
- Available Platinum discounts
The exact benefits still depend on your area.
Why Would Platinum Pass Be Useful?
Imagine you have maintained Platinum for months.
Then:
- One Completion Rate point falls
- Acceptance Rate drops
- A rating changes
You fall to Gold.
But you have an earned Platinum Pass.
You may be able to redeem it and temporarily regain Platinum benefits while rebuilding the ratings needed to qualify normally.
It functions somewhat like an insurance policy for your Rewards status.
Can Anyone Redeem Platinum Pass?
No.
DoorDash currently says a Platinum Pass can be redeemed when your normal ratings qualify you for:
- Silver
- Gold
You cannot redeem it if you do not currently qualify for any Rewards tier.
You can redeem only one week at a time.
Can You Save Multiple Platinum Passes?
DoorDash’s interface can show unlocked passes, but the current rules allow only one pass to be redeemed at a time.
Check your Ratings tab for your actual balance and expiration information.
What Happens When Platinum Pass Expires?
Once the seven-day period ends, your normal current ratings determine your Rewards status again.
If you have restored your qualifications to Platinum:
You stay Platinum.
If you qualify only for Gold:
You return to Gold.
What Happens to Platinum Pass Progress if You Lose Platinum?
It resets.
DoorDash says only deliveries completed while actively holding Platinum count toward the current 200-delivery requirement.
If you drop below Platinum before reaching 200:
Progress returns to zero.
That can make maintaining Platinum more important for Dashers specifically trying to earn the pass.
Does Platinum Pass Progress Carry Across Markets?
DoorDash currently says progress can carry across areas as long as you maintain Platinum while completing the qualifying deliveries.
However, Platinum benefits themselves may differ because of local rules and program availability.
DoorDash Rewards and Earn by Time
Another important consideration involves Earn by Time.
DoorDash’s current Earn by Time rules say its standard priority access to high-paying offers benefit is not available while using Earn by Time, although high-paying offers can still appear.
So if the main reason you maintain Platinum is high-paying-offer priority, remember that selecting Earn by Time can change how much value you receive from that particular perk.
This does not automatically make Earn by Time bad.
But it should be part of your strategy.
Does DoorDash Rewards Affect Which Offers You Receive?
Yes, Rewards can be one factor.
DoorDash’s offer-matching explanation says it considers factors including:
- Dasher availability
- Location
- Estimated delivery time
- Ratings and Rewards
- Historical delivery outcomes
- Equipment
- Certifications and eligibility
- Delivery preferences
That means Rewards status matters, but it is not the only factor.
A Platinum Dasher 10 miles from a restaurant may not automatically receive an order instead of a Silver Dasher sitting in the restaurant parking lot.
DoorDash’s system weighs multiple variables.
Does DoorDash Give Platinum Drivers All the Good Orders?
No.
That would oversimplify how matching works.
Rewards can provide priority, but DoorDash also considers things such as location, expected delivery time, equipment and previous delivery outcomes.
And ultimately, the available customer orders determine what DoorDash can offer.
DoorDash Rewards in New York City Are Different
New York City has its own version of Dasher Rewards.
DoorDash explicitly says the NYC program has different qualification rules from markets outside New York City.
As of August 2026, DoorDash lists the following NYC requirements:
| NYC Rewards Tier | Acceptance Rate | Completion Rate | On-Time Rate | Deliveries in Rolling 30 Days | Lifetime Deliveries |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 65% | 95% | 75% | — | 50+ |
| Gold | 85% | 95% | 80% | — | 50+ |
| Platinum | 85% | 97% | 85% | 200 | 50+ |
These numbers apply specifically to DoorDash’s New York City Rewards program and should not be used as nationwide requirements.
DoorDash also says NYC’s Rewards system consolidates several older programs and benefits, including Top Dasher, Large Orders, Early Access Scheduling, Platinum Pass and VIP Support.
What Happened to Top Dasher?
DoorDash has increasingly moved away from relying on Top Dasher as the primary nationwide status concept and toward its tiered Rewards programs.
The clearest current example is New York City, where DoorDash explicitly says Top Dasher has been consolidated into the NYC Dasher Rewards structure along with several other legacy programs.
Outside NYC, program details vary by market.
If your app now shows:
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
instead of Top Dasher, follow the current Rewards information in the app.
Is Silver Worth It?
Silver may be valuable when it gives you:
- Some order priority
- Better scheduling access
- A path toward higher tiers
But do not assume you should accept money-losing orders just to reach Silver.
Compare what you actually gain.
Is Gold Worth It?
Gold can become more meaningful because the gap between no Rewards status and Platinum may be large.
In ODR pilot markets, Gold receives stronger Offer Boost priority than Silver. Eligible Gold drivers may also access Store Pause.
Whether that is worth maintaining depends on:
- Your market
- How easily you qualify
- What you sacrifice to maintain the necessary ratings
Is DoorDash Platinum Worth It?
This is the big question.
For some Dashers:
Yes.
For others:
No.
Platinum is likely more valuable when:
- Your market is oversaturated.
- Scheduling is difficult.
- Large Orders are profitable.
- Higher status noticeably reduces downtime.
- You receive strong high-paying offers.
- Platinum promotions are available.
- Maintaining the ratings does not require many bad orders.
It may be less valuable when:
- Dash Now is always available anyway.
- Your market is extremely busy.
- You must accept many money-losing orders.
- Large Orders are rare.
- High-paying priority produces little noticeable difference.
- You earn more through a selective low-AR strategy.
How to Determine Whether Platinum Is Worth It
Run your own experiment.
Week 1: Maintain Platinum
Track:
- Gross earnings
- Total dash time
- Active time
- Mileage
- Tips
- Number of deliveries
- Number of high-paying offers
- Large Orders
- Idle time
Week 2: Use a More Selective Strategy
Record the same information.
Then compare:
Earnings per total hour
Gross earnings ÷ Dash time
Earnings per mile
Gross earnings ÷ Business mileage
Real vehicle cost
Estimate:
- Gas
- Maintenance
- Depreciation
- Tires
Rewards value
Ask whether Platinum genuinely produced:
- More orders
- Better orders
- Less waiting
- Large Orders
- Schedule access
This provides a much better answer than asking:
Is Platinum worth it?
because another driver’s market may behave completely differently.
Example: Platinum Can Be Worth It
Suppose:
Platinum week
Gross earnings: $900
Dash time: 35 hours
Miles: 500
Gross hourly:
$25.71
Gross per mile:
$1.80
You also receive:
- Two Large Orders
- Less downtime
Now compare:
Non-Platinum week
Gross earnings: $700
Dash time: 35 hours
Miles: 400
Gross hourly:
$20
Gross per mile:
$1.75
In this example, Platinum appears valuable.
Example: Platinum Can Be a Bad Trade
Now consider:
Platinum strategy
Gross:
$800
Dash time:
40 hours
Mileage:
700
Gross hourly:
$20
Gross per mile:
$1.14
Selective strategy
Gross:
$760
Dash time:
30 hours
Mileage:
400
Gross hourly:
$25.33
Gross per mile:
$1.90
The Platinum strategy made:
$40 more gross
but required:
- 10 additional hours
- 300 additional miles
That may be a terrible financial trade.
The tier itself is not your goal.
Profit is your goal.
How to Maintain DoorDash Platinum
If Platinum is valuable in your market, protect the metrics that determine it.
1. Know Your Exact Requirements
Check Ratings regularly.
Do not rely on memory.
2. Avoid Unnecessary Unassignments
Completion Rate can move quickly.
Do not accept orders you already expect to abandon.
3. Work During Better Hours
Maintaining Acceptance Rate is much easier when the available offers are reasonable.
Try:
- Lunch
- Dinner
- Weekend periods
- Strong local demand windows
4. Avoid Weak Zones
If one zone consistently sends terrible offers, another market may make maintaining Rewards easier.
5. Pause When You Need a Break
Do not let unwanted offers keep arriving while:
- Refueling
- Eating
- Using restroom
- Making a personal call
6. Protect Customer Rating
Follow instructions and deliver professionally.
7. Maintain On-Time Performance
This is especially important in ODR markets and locations where On-Time Rate affects Rewards.
8. Protect Quality Rate if Your Market Uses It
ODR can include Quality Rate as one of its six factors.
9. Watch Your Last 30-Day Orders
Part-time drivers can lose status simply because older deliveries fall outside the rolling period.
10. Do Not Chase Status Blindly
Set a limit on what you are willing to accept.
Common DoorDash Rewards Mistakes
1. Following Old Nationwide Thresholds
Requirements vary by market in 2026.
2. Assuming Platinum Guarantees Great Orders
It provides priority—not guaranteed profitable offers.
3. Accepting Every Bad Order
The cost of maintaining status can exceed its value.
4. Ignoring Completion Rate
Raising AR while repeatedly unassigning can damage another important rating.
5. Ignoring Mileage
Higher gross revenue can still produce lower profit.
6. Thinking Dash Now Guarantees Orders
It gives platform access, not guaranteed demand.
7. Assuming Rewards Work the Same in Every City
DoorDash explicitly varies Rewards by location.
8. Ignoring the ODR Pilot
Your market may already use a points-based qualification system.
9. Not Checking Platinum Pass
Eligible Dashers can earn a seven-day Platinum Pass after 200 consecutive deliveries while maintaining Platinum.
10. Treating Rewards Like a Game
Silver, Gold and Platinum do not pay your bills.
Profitable deliveries do.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is DoorDash Dasher Rewards?
Dasher Rewards is DoorDash’s tiered program that can provide benefits such as high-paying-offer priority, Dash Now access, Advanced Scheduling, VIP Support and Large Order access to qualifying drivers.
What are the DoorDash Rewards levels?
The main levels are:
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
Platinum is the highest standard level.
What Acceptance Rate do you need for Platinum?
There is no single nationwide percentage.
DoorDash says requirements depend on the area. Check the Ratings tab in your Dasher app.
What Completion Rate do you need for Platinum?
Again, Rewards requirements vary by area.
Do not confuse your local Platinum threshold with DoorDash’s separate platform minimum Completion Rate.
Check your Ratings tab for your actual Platinum requirement.
What Customer Rating do you need for Platinum?
The exact Rewards qualification depends on your market.
Your app shows the current requirement.
Does DoorDash Rewards require a certain number of deliveries?
Yes, delivery activity can matter.
DoorDash says new Dashers receive special perks for their first 50 deliveries and then become eligible for normal Rewards qualification. Some market-specific systems also use recent delivery totals.
How do I check my DoorDash Rewards status?
Open the Dasher app and go to Ratings.
DoorDash says this section shows your current level, qualifications and unlocked rewards.
Can I lose Platinum immediately?
Your status can change as your qualifying ratings change.
If a rating falls below your area’s requirement, you may lose the associated Rewards until you qualify again.
Can I regain Platinum?
Yes.
When your current ratings and delivery requirements again meet the Platinum qualification, you can regain the status.
Does low Acceptance Rate deactivate you?
DoorDash currently says there is no minimum Acceptance Rate required merely to remain active.
However, a lower Acceptance Rate can affect Dasher Rewards qualification.
Does Platinum give you better orders?
It can provide greater priority for eligible offers.
But DoorDash does not guarantee that every Platinum offer will be high-paying. Rewards are only one factor used in offer matching.
What are DoorDash high-paying orders?
DoorDash describes them as some of the highest-paying offers available in an area based on total pay and delivery distance. What qualifies varies by market and over time.
Does Platinum guarantee more orders?
No.
Even in ODR markets with Offer Boosts, DoorDash says offer frequency still depends on demand, location and availability.
What are Offer Boosts?
In selected Overall Dasher Rating markets, Offer Boosts give greater offer priority to higher-status Dashers.
Platinum receives the highest priority, followed by Gold and Silver.
Do Offer Boosts increase payout?
No.
DoorDash says Offer Boosts primarily improve offer access and reduce potential idle time rather than increasing the dollar amount of each delivery.
What is Overall Dasher Rating?
ODR is a DoorDash pilot combining points from Acceptance Rate, Completion Rate, Customer Rating, On-Time Rate, Quality Rate and Last 30-Day Orders into one Rewards qualification score.
Is ODR available everywhere?
No.
DoorDash says it is a pilot and availability can vary by Dasher and market.
Can everyone Dash Now under ODR?
In the selected ODR markets described by DoorDash, all participating Dashers can go online using Dash Now regardless of Rewards status. Higher tiers can then receive Offer Boost priority.
What is Store Pause?
Store Pause is a pilot benefit allowing eligible Gold and Platinum Dashers to temporarily stop receiving offers from certain stores for two weeks.
How many stores can Platinum Dashers pause?
Under the current pilot, DoorDash says eligible Platinum Dashers can pause up to three stores for two weeks each, while eligible Gold Dashers can pause one.
What is Platinum Pass?
Platinum Pass is a Rewards perk that lets eligible Dashers redeem seven days of Platinum benefits even if their ratings have fallen below the normal Platinum requirement.
How do you earn Platinum Pass?
DoorDash currently says eligible Dashers earn one after completing 200 consecutive deliveries while maintaining Platinum status.
What happens if I lose Platinum before completing 200 deliveries?
Your Platinum Pass progress resets.
How long does Platinum Pass last?
Seven days after redemption.
Can I use Platinum Pass if I have no Rewards status?
No.
DoorDash currently says you must qualify for Silver or Gold to redeem an earned Platinum Pass.
Do Platinum Dashers get Large Orders?
Large Order access can be one of the Rewards benefits.
DoorDash currently ties US Large Order access in applicable markets to Dasher Rewards qualification. Check your local Rewards page for the tier requirement.
Do you still need a catering bag for Large Orders?
DoorDash’s current general Rewards guidance says a catering bag is no longer required for the Large Orders reward.
Does Platinum give VIP Support?
VIP Dasher Support is one of the possible Rewards benefits, depending on tier and market.
Does Platinum help with scheduling?
Advanced Scheduling and priority Dash Now access can be Rewards benefits depending on your area.
Does DoorDash Rewards work differently in NYC?
Yes.
New York City has separate qualification criteria and program features. DoorDash explicitly says Dashers outside NYC may have different requirements.
What are the current NYC Platinum requirements?
DoorDash currently lists NYC Platinum as:
- 85% Acceptance Rate
- 97% Completion Rate
- 85% On-Time Rate
- 200 deliveries in the rolling last 30 days
- At least 50 lifetime deliveries
These numbers should not be applied to other markets.
What happened to Top Dasher?
DoorDash has been replacing or consolidating legacy programs into newer Rewards structures. In New York City, DoorDash explicitly lists Top Dasher among the programs consolidated into NYC Dasher Rewards.
Is DoorDash Platinum worth it?
It depends on your market.
Platinum may be worth maintaining when its benefits generate enough extra earnings, order access, Large Orders or schedule flexibility to outweigh the cost of maintaining the required ratings.
Measure the results rather than assuming the status itself guarantees more profit.

Final Thoughts
DoorDash Rewards has changed significantly.
The old strategy of memorizing one set of ratings and assuming it applies everywhere is no longer reliable.
In 2026, the most important rule is:
Check your Dasher app.
DoorDash explicitly says Silver, Gold and Platinum requirements vary by area, and the Ratings tab shows the criteria that currently apply to your account.
The Rewards can be valuable.
Depending on your location, they may include:
- Priority access to high-paying orders
- Dash Now advantages
- Advanced Scheduling
- VIP Support
- Large Orders
- Special discounts
- Offer Boosts
- Store Pause
- Platinum Pass
DoorDash is also changing how some drivers qualify.
The newer Overall Dasher Rating pilot combines Acceptance Rate, Completion Rate, Customer Rating, On-Time Rate, Quality Rate and recent order activity into one points score.
And Platinum Pass has received a major 2026 update: eligible Dashers can now earn a seven-day Platinum pass by completing 200 consecutive deliveries while maintaining Platinum status.
But even with all these perks, I would not recommend chasing Platinum blindly.
Your goal as a Dasher is not:
Highest Rewards status possible.
Your goal is:
Highest sustainable profit possible.
If maintaining Platinum helps you:
- Get better opportunities
- Reduce idle time
- Receive Large Orders
- Dash when you want
- Make more money after vehicle expenses
then Platinum may be extremely valuable.
But if maintaining Platinum requires you to repeatedly accept deliveries that lose money after mileage, time and vehicle costs, the shiny Platinum badge may not be helping your business.
Track the numbers.
Compare:
- Earnings per hour
- Earnings per mile
- Idle time
- Mileage
- Tips
- Large Orders
- Rewards benefits
Then make the decision based on your own market.
DoorDash Rewards should be a tool that helps you earn more.
It should never become the reason you stop thinking like a business owner.
